Feeling more like a squirrel than usual

Updated: Feb 13

Hello blogging friends–

In the words of chicken little, “the sky is falling”.. at least it feels like it.

Not to complain, but I think God is trying to get my attention.  On Sunday, I noticed the kitchen aid was not working.  On Tuesday, I noticed that the washer was not working.  On Wednesday, I contemplated how to mow with our mower (it takes a family reunion to start the mower), On Thursday, the dishwasher stopped working and yes, you guessed it.  The air conditioning is not working today.

While little things happened over the week that showed me that God is in the details and the nuts and bolts of things, I’m still perplexed as to the onslaught of stuff going on in the house.

It’s stuff like this that makes me feel like a squirrel.  I pulled my frizzy hair back away from my sweaty little face and took a look at myself in the mirror.  Yup.  I’m still here.  The parts of me still work.  There’s no time like the present to be thankful.  And make chocolate chip cookies.  Oh that’s right. kitchen aid. and oven. creates heat. nope.

But there’s chocolate. And my mom is coming to visit.  And I don’t have crying toddlers anymore.  So there.  Life is good.

And I made my bed today.

And this squirrel is going to crawl back in there for a nap. true story.
